Jazz has earned the top place in overall coverage in Opensignal’s new Coverage Experience Report. Opensignal is an independent analytics company specializing in quantifying global mobile network experiences.
Opensignal’s new Coverage Experience metric measures the geographic coverage of populated areas on a 10-point scale to represent the experience users receive as they travel around areas where they would reasonably expect to find coverage.
Jazz, with the top score of 6.1, tops the Opensignal report list of the best overall coverage experience in Pakistan, followed by Zong, Telenor, and Ufone with scores of 5.5, 4.8, and 3.1 respectively.
Jazz has the largest market share in Pakistan serving over 73m customers followed by Telenor, Zong, and Ufone with 48m, 46m, and 26m subscribers respectively. Jazz also serves the most 4G users (47m) followed by Zong (39m), Telenor (25m), and Ufone (14m).
Typically, surveys use geography and population bases approaches to gauge mobile coverage experience, which, according to Opensignal, have their shortcomings.
As a solution, Opensignal says that its Coverage Experience measures (not estimates) the geographic coverage of populated areas and therefore more accurately reflects the coverage expectations and experience of typical users.

In yet another step towards making operations in Pakistan digital, the National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) on Wednesday launched a mobile application ‘Rahbar’ which would not only enable citizens across the country to find the nearest Nadra Service Centre but offer much more through a simple click.
Nadra Chairman Tariq Malik, while announcing the citizen-centric mobile application, said: “Citizen’s residing inside Pakistan were unable to know about the location of the Nadra centre that best suits their vicinity. With Rahbar, the citizens can now make a well-informed decision about visiting any Nadra centre, keeping in view the location, distance, number of applicants-in-waiting, and average processing time through their mobile phones.”
He said such initiatives were aimed at converting Nadra offices to citizen service centres rather than only registration centres, adding that the application will ensure that citizens are facilitated to the max.
Furthermore, he said: “From now onwards, Nadra’s service will be in the public eye. This is the true manifestation of digital Pakistan and e-governance.”

As per reports, Apple is putting a lot of effort into under-screen camera technology. In terms of the notch, there are rumors that the iPhone 15 Pro will be the first iPhone to remove this design.
According to details, after several conversations with relevant authorities, it can now be confirmed that Apple engineers will no longer develop the under-screen fingerprint recognition for the phone.
Apple is likely to take its time in the development of an under-screen camera. Even though this feature is already commercial on Android, its performance is below par. Thus, Apple still has the opportunity to develop this technology and be a force to reckon with. Apple will not release this device until September next year. However, the next-generation iPhones may use a punch-hole display. If this happens, iPhone 15 Pro will not be the first iPhone without a notch.

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Thursday inaugurated Technopolis, a Special Technology Zone in Lahore spread over 700 acres, and called it “a step to boost the country’s exports in the technology sector.”
The special technology zone had been established under Lahore Knowledge Park Company that had attracted a huge investment to increase the country’s exports in the sector.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony, PM Imran said that the purpose behind launching the Technopolis was to facilitate overseas Pakistanis to invest in Pakistan.
He said that the secret behind the progress and development of China was that overseas Chinese first started investing in the country then other companies followed them. Similarly, the premier added, overseas Indians first began investing first in their country before others, he said.
“Promotion of IT [informational technology] sector will help resolve the issue of unemployment. IT was the only sector which was unhurt during the coronavirus pandemic,” said the premier.
He said that many successful Pakistanis were sitting in the Silicon Valley, a hub of technology companies in the United States, who could launch initiatives in the Technopolis. The government had given incentives to the tech zone.
“It is unfortunate that we [Pakistan] have been left behind in the sector of technology. We can fast move forward in the sector of IT as Pakistan is an ideal country for the revolution of IT,” said the PM.
“On the other hand, when the value of the dollar increases against the rupee, the government has to make payment over it. We have to approach the International Monetary Fund for lack of dollars,” said the PM.
